Overview
This course is required for graduation. This course focuses on doctrine and themes found throughout the writings, teachings, and sermons of the Book of Mormon. Emphasis is given to prophetic witnesses of Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. This course builds upon students' previous sequential and topical gospel study experiences. Both REL 121 and REL 122 can be taken to help prepare you for this class.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, and Google Bard, Claude, etc. are not allowed in this class. These tools will interfere with key learning outcomes. Please do not use generative AI to create work that is to be submitted, to evaluate work that you are producing, to summarize course content, or to help you find answers to your questions.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Required Resources
Access to the standard works (scriptures) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You can use paper copies or access them digitally at churchofjesuschrist.org.
Structure
Course Outcomes (CO)
After taking REL275C, students will be able to do the following:

- Identify several “Great things” that the Lord has done for his children.
- Explain how the “covenants of the Lord” with the House of Israel make it so that “they are not cast off forever.”
- Teach why “Jesus is the Christ – the Eternal God.”
- Understand how to apply the Doctrine of Christ to “be found spotless at the judgment seat of Christ.”

Learning Model
As with all of your other courses at BYU-Idaho, you will have the opportunity to prepare spiritually and intellectually throughout this course. You are encouraged to continue your personal prayers and scripture study as you seek to understand the ideas and doctrinal concepts discussed. Additionally, you will have opportunities to teach others both inside and outside of class and share those learning and teaching moments with others. You will also be given opportunities to reflect on what you are learning.
Expectations
Feedback
You can expect to receive grades and feedback within seven days of the due date for all assignments.
Workload
BYU-Idaho's policy is that you should expect to spend three hours of work for each hour of credit. Therefore, in this two-credit course, you should plan on spending six hours per week either in preparation, assignments, or small teaching experiences.
Each week you will complete different assignments designed to deepen your understanding of the gospel. You should anticipate spending between five and six hours on the class each week. Each week there will be two areas of focus. Instructions on what work needs to be done and how to submit your work will be found within assignments and quizzes in each week's module.
Late Work
Late work is not accepted. As a sign of professionalism and respect, students complete your work on time.
